Bridges Sales Executive - Based in Knutsford, Cheshire

Stirling Lloyd are a successful and growing company, with 40 years experience in the manufacture of high quality waterproofing and protective coatings and repair products, for the construction industry.  Due to expansion we require a new person to join our Sales Support Team as a Sales Support Assistant responsible for obtaining qualified leads and appointments via the telephone for our external sales team to pursue.

The Role

Identify suitable new projects/opportunities/leads from a variety of lead sources, where a sales opportunity exists, by:

  • Making contact with Potential new Clients
  • Book appointments for Bridges Managers to visit to secure the specification or sale, at the appropriate time
  • Identify potential project opportunities from referrals, trade journals, national press, internet and other sources
  • Contacting visitors to the companies website to establish their requirements, satisfaction level and if a sales opportunity exists
  • Pursue project leads sourced from third party
  • Record all relevant information on the company’s CRM database
  • Contact potential customers by telephone where there is thought to be a repeat business opportunity (business to business rather than a project focus)
  • Carry out specific market campaigns as directed.
  • Build and Develop Relationships with National Contractors/Clients/Customers
  • Assist on targeted contractor meetings and site visits
  • Coordination of exhibitions and roadshows
  • Close interaction with Sales Order Processing team and discount database
  • Interaction with Technical Services department regarding project management
  • Attendance of sales meetings and Bridges meetings
  • Full time 8.45am – 4.45pm Monday to Friday
  • Basic plus commission

Key Experience Required

  • The candidate will ideally have worked in telephone sales or similar and in a construction-oriented sales organisation (civil and/or Building)
  • Key attributes associated with this role include being highly organised, gregarious, tenacious and have excellent communication, people skills and confidence

Area Sales Manager Highways - Scotland

  • Location: Scotland M8 Corridor
  • Salary: Competitive Salary dependent on experience, plus a commission scheme that rewards successful individuals

Principal Duties

As an Area Sales Manager your main duties will be to facilitate and support the growth of our client’s products in the Highways Market.

The Role

  • This is an opportunity for a highly motivated and hard-working Sales Manager to continue to maximise market potential and develop a specialist understanding of our client’s range of Highway Maintenance Products. 
  • You will lead and take responsibility for sales and be responsible for the whole product range within your specific sales territory.   
  • The role will include identifying suitable new projects and opportunities where a sales opening opportunity exists, sufficient to maintain a regular flow of orders.
  • In addition to the above the successful candidate will take total responsibility for achieving their targeted business contribution for their respective territory.

The Candidate

  • Ideally you will be based along the M8 Corridor, and the ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of highways issues and highway clients in both public and private sectors. 
  • You will also have a proven track record in sales or experience in a client facing role, preferably within the Highways, Construction or Civil Engineering sectors.  You will be involved in all stages of the sales process. 
  • The key attributes associated with this role include being gregarious with excellent people skills, confident, competitive and self motivated. You should also be tenacious and have excellent presentation skills.

Area Sales Manager

  • Location: Various Nationally
  • Salary: Competitive Salary dependent on experience, plus a commission scheme that rewards successful individuals

The Role

  • This is an opportunity for a highly motivated and hard working individual to continue to maximise market potential by selling our specialist protection coating systems
  • The ASM will be targeting a mix of architects, engineers, local authorities, councils, main contractors and major end clients focusing largely on new business
  • Will Identify suitable new projects/opportunities where a sales opportunity exists sufficient to maintain a regular flow of orders
  • Prepare offers, proposals and specifications, negotiate material prices working closely with contractors, as required to meet the client’s requirements/ procurement procedures and set up the sale
  • Identifying new customer needs and opportunities for the client in all areas of business
  • The successful candidate will take total responsibility for achieving their targeted business contribution for their respective territory
  • Based from home and covering their specified area, the candidate will need to be located within the territory in order to service the area efficiently

Key Skills Required

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in specification selling with a proven track record in sales, preferably within the coatings/construction industry
  • Proven Record of getting new business, so somebody who has demonstrated good performance in winning new business with new customers
  • Experience in “technical consultative” sales, or problem solving sales Construction Industry knowledge/background
  • Ability to understand technical products and services and interpret architectural drawings
  • Proven record of selling at all levels from Architects to Local Authorities to Contractors and other construction related professionals
  • Has experience of working within a company where good sales reporting disciplines are practiced and has reasonable IT skills
  • Can demonstrate some major sales successes where a knowledge of professional sales techniques and procedures have been utilised
