Eliminator® shortlisted for LWRA Liquid Waterproofing Project of the Year

Bond Coat 3 on Queensferry Crossing

Queensferry Crossing

Eliminator® on the Queensferry Crossing Bridge shortlisted for Liquid Waterproofing Project of the Year.

Stirling Lloyd are pleased to announce that our involvement on the Queensferry Crossing Bridge, with contractors VolkerLaser Ltd and our Eliminator® system, has been shortlisted for the LRWA Liquid Waterproofing Project of the Year.

The centre of the major upgrade to the cross-Forth transport corridor, the Queensferry Crossing has now replaced the existing Forth Road Bridge as the primary vehicular crossing over the River Forth. With a total Scottish Government investment of around £1.35bn, the 2.7km structure is the longest three-tower, cable stayed bridge in the world and our Eliminator® system was specified for the bridge deck waterproofing on this iconic structure.

With contractors, VolkerLaser Ltd on hand, a grand total of 94,380m2 of the Eliminator® system was applied to the Queensferry Crossing.  A major deciding factor in the use of Eliminator® was the new Bond Coat 3, a high performance, heat activated  bond coat which provides exceptional adhesion between Eliminator® and coarse asphalt pavement mixes for superior longevity.

Eliminator® was perfectly suited for The Queensferry Crossing project as it would provide the enhanced adhesion values of the membrane to the deck, and the membrane to the surfacing needed for this prominent structure.

We are pleased to be shortlisted for the LRWA award, recognizing the benefits of the Eliminator® system.

The winner will be announced in November.
